I began looking for an alternative to the usual funeral homes in the area. I did not know at the time that we would be needing their services much sooner than expected. My two sisters and I found ourselves experiencing the most devastating heartbreak when we lost our dad suddenly in June in the midst of a pandemic. In my mind, losing a parent is a game changer. Our Dad didn't have any funeral arrangements made but we knew his wishes were to be cremated. I had driven by Considerate Cremation & Burial Services on many occasions and we decided to call them right from the hospital room on a Sunday morning (knowing that time was of the essence). Bruce answered our call and thru tears I told him we had lost our Dad. He immediately offered his sincerest condolences and listened to me patiently as I told him how lost we felt. He was professional and kind and reassuring, he asked for a few details and then explained that he could assist with caring for our Dad's final wishes. He made everything so simple and easy. We met with Bruce at their very clean and comforting facility the next morning (safely social distancing) and Bruce helped us thru the process explaining everything while constantly reassuring us. I was so very impressed how he asked us so many details of the kind of person our Dad was (what type of work he did, what he was passionate about and allowed us to tell our story). We felt he really understood the kind of man our Dad was and what he meant to us and how much we were hurting. There was absolutely NO PRESSURE on the selections we made or and NO UP-SELLING as I have heard of so many friends tell me they experienced at the big funeral homes. There were prices on everything we looked at and I was pleased that most of the things we chose were MADE IN CANADA. Considerate Cremation & Burial allowed us to have a small visitation (viewing) and it was an uplifting experience for our family. During the entire process Bruce and Holly were always available for us when we called. They handled all the details of the task at hand following the death of a loved one and paperwork and notices to the government, etc. Even estate fraud protection against the identity of our dear Dad. I cannot tell you how much we appreciated the services of Bruce & Holly in providing the most incredible experience during the most difficult time we have faced. Truly GENUINE PEOPLE WHO PUT THE CARE OF YOUR LOVED ONE BEFORE THE ALIMIGHTY DOLLAR and go above and beyond to help care NOT ONLY FOR THE DECEASED BUT FOR THE FAMILY MEMBERS TOO. Their fees are very fair and they offer many options and services. They took the stress away from our family so we could grieve the loss of our Dad and for that we are incredibly grateful!

In today’s world there are terms used some are specific and some are general terms. Probably one of the toughest reviews I have ever written, for the only reason being, that it is about our beloved Mom's passing and that is never easy, not for anyone. My initial call to Considerate Cremation & Burial was based upon a recommendation and when I read the reviews posted here, and navigated their website, we just knew, we knew, they were the people we should entrust for all the arrangements for our beloved Mom. My initial call to Bruce was 100% informative and very, very comforting. Of course, this call was made before our Mom passed, and so it was for me, a subject that had to be discussed, and had to be planned, but once again, a conversation you tend to avoid. Bruce changed the trajectory of that conversation by putting me at ease with his calm, compassionate and informative nature. In fact, everyone at Considerate Cremation & Burial Services have this ability to reassure you, comfort you and at the same time, provide this very safe place for you to arrange all the details. Our Mom passed on Easter Sunday and our one phone call to Bruce was all that was needed. Bruce and his staff took care of every single aspect of this very sad day and time. They reassured, they acted, they comforted and quite honestly, I am not entirely sure how we got through this without all of them. Bruce took care of everything, every single detail and at the same time provided dignity and grace for our Mom. What should also be mentioned, was this was all done over the phone, because I live 2 & 1/2 hours away from St Catharines, and although we do have a sibling who currently resides in St. Catharines, the details were entrusted to me, so we had to depend on Bruce to guide us and reassure us on how things will go and once again during a global pandemic and strict protocols, Bruce just made sure every detail was taken care of and once again, everything was seamless. Bruce also provided us with a beautifully executed Tribute page for our Mom with photos and videos and condolences that could be shared. Afterwards, Bruce provided our family with peace of mind, having prepared all the documentation and endless paperwork, which is so very helpful in a time of grieving. Our experience with Considerate Cremation has been a very good one. Their name is very appropriate. Mom and I met with Bruce in the summer of 2020 to make pre-arrangements for herself and my Dad. He was very helpful and explained everything fully and made sure that we understood the whole process. When Dad passed away this spring, Bruce met with us on later that day to go over everything and make sure that all would be taken care of. He was extremely helpful with suggestions for when to publish the obituary and made sure that the changes we needed to make were done in a timely fashion. He even edited the picture so dad's oxygen line wouldn't show. He has been most helpful and responds quickly to any questions by email or by phone. He helped us out with our request for funeral cards and had them ready quite soon and then when we needed more for Mom's to include in her Christmas card, he had them ready the next day. We are very happy that we chose CCBS. They have made a difficult time so much easier. I don't usually give a five star review unless someone has gone above and beyond. I feel they have exceeded our expectations and deserve 6 stars!

Our family cannot speak more highly of the service we received from Consider Cremation & Burial Services. Our loss of our adored nephew, Ralph, was devastating and there would be little to make it easier however having the caring and considerate assistance from the staff of CCBS helped us get through it with the feeling that Ralph was in good hands and that he would be treated respectfully. When the two gentlemen arrived to pick up my nephew they were so very respectful and caring and were interested in the person they were going to attend to. On the evening of my wife’s passing I found myself some what unprepared for all the necessary tasks that needed doing. For what ever reason I had not prepared ahead of time although I was aware of the inevitable and even the time frame. I didn’t know who to call or what services I wanted or needed. I suppose I put this off hoping for a different outcome. Now I was faced with the necessary task that needed to get done. Cremation was her request and also in her will so we had that instruction to go by. That night I asked the nurse practitioner who did the pronouncing and initial paperwork who in St Catharines handles cremations. She said they don’t give recommendations but mentioned a number of firms and one was Considerate Cremation & Burial Services. We called them first and from the start we realized we didn’t have to make anymore inquiries. From the moment that they answered the call to the people they sent to transfer my wife they were all very professional and sympathetic to the situation. They were not rushed and were extremely considerate as we had very young children and a pet, all of which didn’t understand what was going on. The next day we were contacted on a convenient time to meet and go over the details. My daughter and I were greeted by Bruce McClelland who was so helpful and considerate even accommodated a viewing which I’d requested without hesitation. The reminder of the visit was going over the details, what our expectations were and what services they provided to accommodate those expectations. The reality of price was discussed item by item, upfront and very straight forward leaving me quite comfortable. I was very thankful for Bruce’s professionalism and transparency. There was no pressure sales or upselling on his part which I was very thankful for. He went over ever detail point by point until and we were satisfied. Bruce set up a web page for condolences and he worked with my daughter to make sure the photos and wording was just right for the site. After a few days and the cremation was completed I was asked to come by for the AfterCare appointment. I was surprised at being presented with a detailed point by point agenda of all the items that need to be completed. From forms for the government to dealing with credit cards, utility companies etc. each item Bruce explained thoroughly. What items had been done, by CCBS, and what needed to be done by me. They had already contacted the government on our behalf to informed them of our loved ones passing which greatly reduces the chance of identity theft; something I must admit I didn’t have cross my mind. The kit detailed all items and what was need to complete each one. It took a while but I came away with so much information and I can’t begin to say how much this made the whole process easier to handle. There is a mountain of work to do when a loved one passes on, more than I first realized. CCBS could not take away the pain and sadness but they made the necessary chores of the living much more tolerable. It is nice to know that a company like Considerate Cremation & Burial Services exists to help get through these very painful times and people like Bruce who make this sad time less stressful. I hope I’m spared the need to do this again but if not I would not hesitate to call on Bruce and his team to help out and would not hesitate to recommend them as well.

Bruce was wonderful. Incredibly knowledgeable, honest and compassionate. I never felt pressured at any time for an "upsell"; he respected the family's wishes to the letter. The steps that need to be taken after losing a loved one can be overwhelming, but Bruce goes through every single detail with you on how to begin to take care of the estate after and steps to protect your loved one's identity, etc. Things you'd never even think of are all addressed and you are provided with a package to help you navigate it all. I can't recommend this service enough. Thank you Bruce and Holly, you have now helped me get through a couple of horrible times.

We were very pleased with Considerate Cremation and Burial Services from the start to finish of their service. Bruce was clear in the information he provided and was readily available if we had any additional questions. The service was reasonably priced and there was absolutely no pressure to purchase any additional products or services than what we had decided in advance. We can not say enough good things about Bruce and Considerate Cremation & Burial Services. Bruce was extremely helpful to assist us in first making pre-arrangements AND later on, when an expected death occurred. His professionalism made all the difference. He was always available for us, and his compassion and empathy were just what we needed at that time. Also, the very comprehensive information package he had prepared outlining all the steps one has to go through for the estate process made it a lot easier on us in these difficult times. He had already taken care of many of the initial but so important steps. We strongly suggest you entrust CCBS for your specific funeral needs; this is a time when you need someone who is trustworthy to provide quality service.

My children and I were fortunate to have the very caring support of the team at Considerate Cremation & Burial Services, and Bruce in particular, at a most difficult time - losing my husband and their father. Navigating all the aspects of that could have been overwhelming, but we were supported throughout with the utmost of respect, kindness and professionalism.

The service we received was absolutely second to none. We knew what was happening with my wife and knew that the outcome was not in doubt. We contacted Bruce and everything was taken care of ahead of time in a most compassionate, caring, and respectful manner, every wish and need for my wife was taken into account, all options were clearly explained and there was no pressure. Everything was paid for in advance, and on the day she left us and the call was made the team came and took her away with great decency and were very respectful of our grief. A day later we were able to visit the facility and spend some time with her before she was cremated, we were able to take as much time as we wanted and needed, and we all found this most beneficial and are very grateful to Bruce and the rest for the team service they have provided.
